Call (07) 3067 4274 with what's going on. We're available 24/7 across Newstead, with no call-out fees, flat-rate pricing and work done under QBCC No: 15024607, same-day where we can.

Plumber Newstead is locally owned and operated, and our plumbers work the riverside towers, the old woolstore conversions and the strip along Breakfast Creek Road. Every job is quoted before a tool comes out of the bag.
Most of what we do here is unit work: cupboard hot water systems, shared drains, flexi hoses under apartment sinks and gas fitting for balconies. Ring (07) 3067 4274 and a few quick questions will sort out what you need.

Everything we do falls into four groups, and every service sits under one of them:

Water or gas where it should not be, right now:

The everyday repairs and installs that keep a home running:

Blocked lines, slow gullies and finding out why:

Hot water fixed or replaced, inside finished buildings:
$0 call-out fees, available 24/7, and same-day where we can.

Newstead spent a century as working riverfront, with gasworks and wharves, woolstores and timber yards, and the wharves moved cargo up until 1969. Since 2001 the old sites have gone over to riverside apartments and townhouses, and the building has not stopped.
At the last census, 99.2 per cent of local homes were flats or apartments, across 3905 dwellings in all. That shapes almost every job we do: most start inside a strata building, not a backyard, and many start with a body corporate manager on the phone rather than the owner.
The riverside blocks that arrived from 2001, plus the towers built later on the gasworks and wharf land, have reached the point where their original hot water units are being replaced inside buildings that are finished and occupied. Replacements here are now steady work.
Newstead House went up in 1846 for Patrick Leslie and is the oldest home left in the suburb, with a handful of Victorian-era houses for company. The rest is modern composite and brick, which keeps repairs straightforward once you are inside.

Plumbing emergency happening now? Start here:

When a braided hose lets go upstairs, water travels down the service ducts and ends up on the ceilings below, which is why knowing your unit stop valve matters. Creek rises put ground floors and basements under first. Start with emergency plumbing.
Dripping taps, running cisterns, shower work, kitchen sinks and dishwashers, plus gas fitting for new appliances. These are the booked visits that keep a place running. See general plumbing.
Shared drains serving whole floors, stormwater pits with nowhere to drain when the outlets are under water, and inspections when the cause is hidden. Start with drainage.
A repair where a fix will hold, a replacement where a unit has simply run its course, both done with residents still in the building. See hot water.

Newstead occupies low ground with Breakfast Creek along one edge and the Brisbane River along another. The 1893 flood put everything under except Teneriffe Hill, state flood lines show much of it going under again in 1974, and in January 2011 the creek covered the streets west of the road that carries its name. Newstead also appears on the February 2022 list of flooded suburbs.
Basements, car parks and ground floors are the high-risk jobs here, and anything plumbed low down deserves a hard look after a creek rise.
Council's 1997 screening map for acid sulfate soil covers much of the suburb, so digging a pit or trench for a new service line can stir up acidic groundwater that eats into buried steel and concrete. That is why we treat ground work here with care.
The stormwater lines run to Breakfast Creek and the river, and when the tide is high or the river is up, the outlets sit underwater and the street pits have nowhere to drain. It is worth knowing which of your pits is which before the wet season.

Every job in Newstead comes with $0 call-out fees, and there's no extra charge for nights, weekends or public holidays.
Our Fix-It-or-It's-Free guarantee stands behind the work (T&Cs apply), and if we're late, $100 comes off your bill.
Every job is done by a licensed plumber under QBCC No: 15024607, and our labour carries a lifetime labour warranty.
A locally owned and operated business, licensed and insured, with flat-rate pricing.
Most of our jobs start with a call from an owner, a tenant or a body corporate manager, and all three get the same four things above.

No two jobs cost the same, and we will not guess yours over the phone. What stays the same is the shape of the deal.
The quote you sign off on before work starts is what you pay, whether the job turns out bigger than it looked or not.
Access is the big one here: which floor, lift or stairs, how long the carry through common areas is, how deep any ground work has to go, and which parts the job needs.
A few quick questions when you ring, so the quote lands close to the final figure and the van carries the right gear.
Our regular run takes in Albion, Hamilton, Bulimba, Teneriffe and Fortitude Valley, along with Newstead itself. Cross-creek and cross-river visits happen every week, not as a favour. You can also check our about page, the contact details, or the full FAQ collection.

Ring (07) 3067 4274 and let us know what's going on in Newstead. A few questions up front mean we turn up with the right parts.

You get flat-rate pricing and no hidden fees before anything is touched. Approve it and we get started.

The plumber arrives with the parts an apartment job usually needs, carries everything through the common areas the way strata expects, and cleans up before showing you what was done.

Pay by card or EFTPOS on site at the end, or ask about Fix now, pay later.
Yes, all water, drainage and gas work is done under our Queensland licence, which covers plumbing and drainage and gasfitting, and you can ask to sight the details any time you ring.
You get a fixed quote before the work begins, and what you sign off on is what you pay, with nothing tacked on later once the tools are out and the job half done.
We work same-day if we can, so ringing early gives us the best shot at getting one of our plumbers out to you before the day is done, especially for jobs that can safely wait until afternoon.
You can pay with card or EFTPOS on site once the job is finished, so there is nothing to chase down later and no invoice to sit around waiting on.
Along with Newstead we cover Albion, Hamilton, Bulimba, Teneriffe and Fortitude Valley, so crossing the creek or the river for a job is simply part of the week for us.
Call (07) 3067 4274 and tell us what is going on, and we will ask a few quick questions so the van turns up carrying what the job needs, then lock in a time.
